UNITUS DECOS
Generalities

DECOS is a Department of the University of Tuscia, that assembles different competences present in the University, in order to develop multidisciplinary projects, necessary to approach environmental problems and sustainable development. The main research lines are: biodiversity analysis and protection, resources management and improvement, modelling and analysis of complex systems, economy. The Laboratory of Experimental Oceanology and Marine Ecology, inside DECOS, mainly works on the analysis of physical and biological dynamics of the ocean and coastal ecosystems. The main activity of the Laboratory related to this project is the development of advanced platforms and measure instruments as research support.

Main Role in ADRICOSM-STAR

Support to the upgrade of VOS monitoring system through the improvement of T-FLAP probe, a new expendable temperature and fluorescence probe. The improvement concerns: definition of the measure system through the improvement of collimation of the optics and the realization of new lens and filters; improvement and automation of T-FLAP calibration procedure through the realization of a dynamic flow system and the definition of a dedicated software; analysis and optimization of the falling velocity through the realization of particular T-FLAP, equipped with pressure transducer, inclinometer and accelerometer in order to study T-FLAP behaviour; analysis of the procedures of launch.

The UNITUS-DECOS participants are:
